Well as my car has just rolled round to 180,000 miles i am guessing its time to change the transmission fluids. I have been recommended redline MT90 by the guys at Opie, the question is, how much do i need? i can't find information anywhere.
So far as i can tell i need a GL4 oil for the gear box and a GL5 for the rear transfer box, but no idea of quantities.

Also there was some suggestion that the rear transfer box oil was in there for life. Is this the case?

Just recently replaced gearbox oil on mine. After reading through tons of reviews on oils and feedback from people, I would stick to genuine VW/AUDI gearoil, G60 for petrol and G70 for diesel. Capacity depends on your gearbox, mine took just 1.9 Litres. If you got your gearbox code I can find out for you.

VAG say the rear diff oil is for life but i changed the rear diff oil on my old 4mo bora at 67k and it was filthy! so no harm in changing it.
