Gearbox confusion

Hi all, I would like some advice please. I have a 2003 A4 B6 1.9tdi sport with the crunching from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st , I have done some reading and was wondering if a simple oil change would cure this?.

I have been looking for replacement boxes and am confused with regards to type's

So my box from the label in the boot is a _ _ _ FYA.

So my question is what is a HCF FYA box? and is there any alternative box I can use still maintaining 6 speed please.

2003 onwards should be the FRK , it's a VAG Getrag copy of an ELN .

Yes old gearbox oil thickens up and interferes with smooth changing when cold .

75W80/90 is the viscosity and G 052 911 is the spec , a 75W 90 is way too thick and going 70W75 G 052 171 is champion .

For you fits the GBA gearbox too... I have it on my, 1,9tdi AVF... 6 gears....

I have this exact problem so looked up the GBA gearbox and all I'm seeing is links to Audi A1s...
