Glove box pin not budging

Hi Guys,

I know there are many guides on how to remove the glove box and fix the broken hinge however i am having difficulties removing the pin on the left hand side (where the damper attaches). The pin isn't even visible to get a pair of pliers on like the right hand side and the end facing the door has a type of bung on it, i've tried to pry it out but just ended up damaging it.

Whats the best way to get the pin out, all online guides are for A4s glove boxes which seem to be a lot easier to work with!
