Group Buy on Audi A3 HID kits & Headlights LHD - RHD

Hello, I'm from UK and have a 2007 Audi A3. I don't like my factory lights so I was thinking of upgrading to xenon. Not sure if i should change my whole headlight set with this (http://www.welldonehid.com/en/a3/192-xenon-headlights-audi-a3-plug-play-rhd.html) or just get an hid kit (http://www.welldonehid.com/en/hid-kit/76-a38p-hid.html) ?? Also if i get the hid kit do i need to make a hole in the plastic cover for wire to pass thorough ballast from the bulb?? PS what colour temperature bulb are included in the headlight set since there seems to be no options for the bulbs, I want 6000K. Plus why can't we use LHD headlight on RHD cars, as the RHD headlight for UK are more expensive then LHD headlight which i don't get why?...Sorry im just throwing too many questions at you, im new to this car lights stuff. I just want to understand it more before i make any order. Thanks :)

Hi Sunshil Pun,

Xenon headlights are better designed & also better looking.
It is a big improvement.

I would recommend to replace the headlights, better than just the bulbs.
You will have projector headlights with a perfect light cut off & better look.

No. If you get our A38P HID kit you don't need to make any hole in your headlights.
Our HID kit is designed to be installed inside the headlights.
There are no cables hanging out of the headlights, nor cables to the battery.

PS what colour temperature bulb are included in the headlight set since there seems to be no options for the bulbs, I want 6000K.

By default our headlights comes with 6000ºk.
6000ºk is pure white. It's the color we recomend to most of our clients.
The quality of the ballast is very important to offer a real color.
Some HID kits with 6000k bulbs give blue or violet colors, that is common with bad quality ballast or DC ballast.
Good quality ballast makes the bulbs give a warmer tonality.

For example, below you can see our Valeo HID kit with 6000k bulbs.

LHD & RHD headlights are different. LHD (Left Hand Drive) & RHD (Right Hand Drive)
To avoid the glare from other drivers headlights have a different light cut off. Just the opposite.

Trust me... I wish one type of headlight was enough instead of having to offer 2 different models.
UK, Japan, Thailand... requiere RHD headlights or otherwise they will not pass the MOT.

Our warehouse is in a LHD country and 90% of our clients requiere LHD headlights
It has been very complicated to be able to offer RHD headlights.
There are no suppliers outside UK that can provide this kind of headlights and factories do not want to sell RHD headlights to LHD countries.
That is the reason why the RHD headlights are more expensive.

Hi Davekelz,

We have different type of HID kits.
From low cost £20 HID kits, which are similar to the HID kits you can find on ebay or other stores to very high quality HID kits like the OEM Valeo or Mitsubishi.

17134395430_f57d224e94_z.jpg

(price in £ is aprox, depends on currency exchange rate since base prices are in Euros)

· WD04 www.welldonehid.com/en/outlet/118-hid-wd04.html
· WG04 www.welldonehid.com/en/hid-kit/27-kit-xenon-wg04.html
· WG07 www.welldonehid.com/en/hid-kit/30-hid-wg07.html
· WG08 www.welldonehid.com/en/hid-kit/29-kit-xenon-wg08.html

· P407 www.welldonehid.com/en/peugeot-407/191-peugeot-407-hid.html
· OEM (Valeo) www.welldonehid.com/en/hid-kit/8-oem-hid.html

WD01, WD04:
· WD01 is our low cost ballast, but still use AC current and not DC as some cheap HID kits.
They work properly but they are not as reliable & don't last as long as our recommended HID kits (WG04, WG07, WG08, A38P, OEM).
· WD04 is the former high quality ballast, used to be sold at 200€/ Kit a while ago but it was replaced by the improved WG04.
They are reliable & last for years. They are on sale until we finish all the stock.
Both WD01 & WD04 use cheaper HID bulbs than our recommended kits.
We offer 1 years guarantee for this 2 models.

WG04, WG07 & WG08:
This HID kits use German made digital processor & are build with high quality.
They are some of the best aftermarket HID kits (not OEM) you can get.
WG07 is the ballast we use for BMW 1 & 3 Series.
We offer 3 years guarantee since they are very reliable.
Some of this ballasts are used as well by PHILIPS, so you can have an idea of the quality.

For Audi A3 & Peugeot 407 we offer special HID kits, since universal kits can not be used.

A38P & P407:
The A38P HID kit was specifically designed for Audi A3 after we discovered what was the cause of the wiper motor issue.
It is made to fit completely inside the headlight, no cables or ballasts hanging out.
We are the only company that offers a customized HID kit for A3. (Not a universal HID kit with relays. Relays are not safe)
More than 10 Group Buys were made in different Audi forums & countries.
Been selling specific HID for A3 since 2008 & we have never had a broken motor.

The P407 was designed after we realized that Peugeot suffers from the same wiper motor problems.
We used the experience learned from the Audi A3 & customized the A38P HID to fit the Peugeot headlight.
Since the Peugeot headlight has no room to fit the ballast inside (as we do with the A38P) we had to created a headlight cover with the attached ballast.

OEM Valeo & Mitsubishi:
This HID kits are European & Japanese made.
Best quality in the market for a HID kit.
We offer 3 years guarantee since they are very very reliable.
They are also compatible with Audi A3 & Peugeot 407.

with the bi-xenons do you have to have the washer jet bumper?

The MOT rules are different for each country.

Few days a go a client from The Netherlands told me he just installed our A3 Plug & Play Xenon headlights & said they were street legal w/o washers & w/o auto-leveling in NL.

Most of the European countries requieres headlight washers to use Xenon or Bixenon lights.
To be precise... headlight washer are not required for Xenon lights, but for any light that provides more than 2000LM.
There are some new Xenon headlights used by Audi & VW with a lower light output (below 2000LM) that do not requiere washers.

We have been looking to offer a cheap aftermarket washer system for Audi A3 since most of our clients are Audi owners replacing halogen by Xenon.
If there are users interested in this kind of product we can keep working on it & find some vehicle to do the tests.

Hi iamcboy82,

The Plug & Play model is only Xenon so far.
For the 2010-2013 A3 we offer the full headlights with bulbs & ballasts but it is not P&P.
You must use an adaptor (halogen-bixenon) & setup your vehicle with VAGCOM.

We have been trying to develop a Plug & Play Bixenon headlight but is not easy to find vehicles to test the product before selling them online.

We used to have tons of clients interested on trying new products few years ago.
But nowadays is more difficult to design products for an specific vehicle since most of clients buy online and we can't see their cars.
Either the clients are from different cities or countries, or they do not want to stop by our garage.

Yes, they come with 6000k, but can also be offered in 4300k if desired.
I recommend the 6000k color.

You are totally safe using our A38P & OEM HID kits, as well as our P&P Xenon headlights.

Some companies are selling universal HID kits with high voltage cables as "Wiper motor safe".
Using a £20-30 universal HID kit and adding some relays or battery harness do not make a wiper motor safe HID kit for A3.
Some users on the forum have been complaining after using some of this companies "safe" hid kits.

Can I also get the 10% discount on the headlight please from Groupbuy going on this forum??
Sure!

Hi Sushil Pun,

We do have 5 or 6 photos from clients on the website.
Just have to swipe right on the product photos.

22392083726_c00e2b24dc_z.jpg

But keep in mind, photos may not give you 100% accurate or real white-blue colors.
Depends a lot on how the white balance of the camera is setup, some lights can look warmer or more bluish based on the camera settings.
And also the color of the bulbs changes depending on how long have they been working on.
When you just start up the lights they will look more bluish for a few 1-2 of minutes.

Those headlights are not the "Plug & Play Xenon headlights". This angel eyes are only LHD.
They are not certified to work with Xenon bulbs, but you can replace the bulbs by halogen to pass the MOT.

Since you need RHD headlights, you can only order the Xenon headlights.

Hi, Any update on the shipping for the order I placed from the US? Thanks.

Last week we were working on the RHD headlights for the UK market & also the some LTI headlights.
I will post some of the photos of the LTI model below.

- A3 LTI headlights
www.welldonehid.com/en/audi/187-lti-headlights-audi-a3-8p.html

- A3 LTI headlights with HID

Client ordered them with Xenon lights.
We integrated the bulbs, ballasts & all necessary components inside the headlight.
It makes the installation completely Plug & Play for the client.
No High Voltage cables hanging out of the headlight, nor need to find a spot to fit the ballasts.

Hi, I've made my order for RHD Xenon Headlight. Can you give me a rough estimate how long should i expect for it to be delivered here in UK. Thanks. :)

Hi Sushil,

Thanks for your order ;)

We are already preparing the order for the RHD Xenon headlights.
After orders are processed and the product is prepared transit time by UPS is about 3 to 4 business days to most European countries.

Most products are in stock & do not requiere any customization, so the can we shipped the same day.
Other products need some preparation before shipment.
- OEM HID kits are prepared after the order is received, since need to connect the OEM ballast to our HID bulbs.
- Xenon Headlight in our warehouse are usually empty, no bulbs & no ballasts. We have to install all the parts & make them Plug & Play.

You will receive a confirmation email with the tracking number once your headlights are shipped.

Do you do the standard LTI's for RHD yet?

If so are they plug and play as they're non Hid?

Do you do the standard LTI's for RHD yet?

Yes they are Plug & Play.
Nobody ordered RHD LTI headlights so far, so we didn't make them yet.

Possible for drls to come on with engine on and then dim with headlights on like true drl?

This LTI headlights do not use regular LED bulbs.
They have a light tube. You can't dim this lights.

Hi,

I have received my Xenon RHD plug and play light units. Can you advise me if the bulbs are D1S or D2S?

Hi,

I have received my Xenon RHD plug and play light units. Can you advise me if the bulbs are D1S or D2S?

Hi Simon,
Xenon headlights are D2S.
Can I ask why you want to know?
Do you want to change something in the headlights?

Hi Welldone, Any updates on when these will ship out? It has been five months since my order.

Just wanted to resurrect this thread because I am interested buying the RHD Xenon headlights for my 2006 A3 8P.

Did anyone get theirs and any information to share?

Does the discount still stand @welldonehid ?

Any responses will be much appreciated.

Cheers
Donny

Question for Welldonehid
Your lti hid headlights, will they work with a 2010 A3 8P 2.0T that has factory xenons?

Suggest you not to feed the trolls...

That guy is a paranoid & a total lier.
We have been selling this headlights since 2010.
7 years with hundreds of clients, and all of them talk wonders about this headlights.

Last client from UK has a totally different experience with the same headlights:

32500465901_fb2431b6e0.jpg

The guy you are talking about it is a drama queen who took his car to a very unprofesional garage for the installation.
He was overcharged around £140 (100 + 40) for an awful installation.
Installation that was done only half way.
· They didn't even adjust the headlights (they have 4 bolts) leaving gaps between headlights and fender.
· Not only that, but they didn't adjust the leveling of the headlights & was told to go somewhere else to finish the installation & adjust the light beam.
It's just a joke. He also blamed us for being charged £140 at that garage.

Something is off with his story.
Everybody gives 5* reviews for this headlights.
Meanwhile this guy complains even for the money other companies charge him.

I will be posting the interminable list of his ridicule complains as soon as I have time (he made me waste so much time already).
So definitely, people should read that post if they want to have a good laugh.
I would suggest to avoid doing any deal with him
Most bizarre client & arguement we ever had.

Not to mention he also opened a dispute on PayPal before the delivery date was due.
Even our FREE Youtube tutorials are a big problem to him...

I'd think again about bringing a dispute into another thread - but it's your thread so up to you. Multiple threads about the same experience simply amplifies the issue - that's what the internet does via Google.
