NB: Classifieds are available FREE to ALL NON-COMMERCIAL USERS of Audi-Sport.net who have made at least 25 useful posts on the forums, or A DONATION TO THE SITE VIA PAYPAL.
OK; as some of you are of aware, the classifieds system we've been running at ASN has struggled to keep pace with the development of the forum software; for a while we had it running pretty sweetly, but we acknowledge that we're in need of something more robust again.
So, we're going to give classified-selling in the forum a little update.
We want to be quite relaxed about how you go about this, so here's a brief guide, including three rules and a few guidelines.
RULE #1: THE ONLY COMMERCIAL SELLING ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON AUDI-SPORT.NET IS BY THOSE WHO HAVE PRIOR AUTHORISATION FROM THE ADMINISTRATORS AS SPONSOR/COMMERCIAL PARTNERS.
PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS MAY SELL IN THESE CLASSIFIED SECTIONS BUT COMMERCIAL ENTITIES OF ANY TYPE MUST HAVE PERMISSION GRANTED BY THE ADMINISTRATORS.
RULE #2: YOU - THE ADVERTISER/POSTER ARE LIABLE FOR THE CONTENT OF YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS/POSTS, AND YOUR CONDUCT IN SELLING. IF YOU BREAK THE LAW WE WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM PASSING ON YOUR DETAILS IF REQUESTED BY THE AUTHORITIES.
RULE #3: YOU - THE PURCHASER ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING THE USUAL PRECAUTIONS WHEN PURCHASING FROM CLASSIFIED ADS - AUDI-SPORT.NET ACCEPTS NO LIABILTY FOR DAMAGES OR LOSSES INCURRED DURING ANY USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING CLASSIFIED TRADING.
Now that's out of the way...
To sell in whichever section is relevent to your item, start a new thread as you would any other. Give a description of your item, and perhaps a price etc. in the title. In the thread of course give a description of what you're selling, and feel free to place images in the post
Try to give a bit of thought to:
Content - technical details, dimensions, postage/collection details etc.
Pricing Details - whether you're open to offers etc.
Contact details - I would suggest private messages are the most secure (and of course you can always send your email/phone number in a PM), use caution when putting email addresses and phone numbers on a public post - at the very least I would recommend m@5k!ng th3m somehow.
Layout & Presentation - because at the very least, sloppy ads are less likely to sell.
ONCE YOU'VE SOLD YOUR ITEM: You're able to mark it as SOLD.
THIS SHOULD PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING FURTHER CONTACT AFTER YOU'VE SOLD THE ITEM, AND WILL PROMPT A MOD/ADMIN TO DELETE YOUR THREAD IF THEY'RE HAPPY IT'S BEEN MARKED AS SOLD FOR A FEW DAYS (WHICH WILL ENSURE YOU DON'T GET PESTERED FOR AN OLD LISTING).
To mark an item as sold (note: you can reverse this if you hit it by mistake), open your item's thread, and use the drop down menu under edit thread. If you are unable to mark your item off, please contact a member of the admin/moderation team and we will happily do for you.
Payment Options
When paying for an item, you have 2 options.
Please use Paypal, as your No.1 option to protect yourself if a transaction goes wrong (ie if you don't receive the item or its not as described)
Pay cash on collection.
Never use a bank transfer as you have no protection and you would need to contact your bank if a transaction goes wrong.
