Has anyone painted an A6 C6 engine cover?

I am considering painting my engine cover on my A6 red...

Has anyone else done this? Any pics?

The second one looks better as it goes with the s-line colours.

Yeah, I could see that second look working in satin paint (or maybe plastidip??). That first look makes me think crackle/flocked finish a-la Ferrari, which would be neat

I have wanted to tart mine up a bit under the bonnet, but some berk took the rings off my engine cover (before I owned it), and I have made some half-hearted attempts to find another one so I can do something similar to your pics (i.e. splash of red and/or a tiny hint of carbon). Kinda feels pointless spending money on another cover though, considering it would be hidden 99.9% of the time...

Ok, now I really want to do mine like the first shot with a red crackle finish. Damn you, mod-bug.
