Heat shield location?

This heatshield fell out from underneath my B6 A4 Tdi Sport. Anybody here know where it goes and is it critical to have it refitted asap?

At a guess, over the top of the rear silencers, the whole widens over time due to vibrations then it drops over the securing nuts. A bigger washer and refit, job done.
