Heated Washer Jets

I was looking through inner fuse box the other day looking for the rear wiper fuse when i came across a fuse in the "Heated Washer Jet" so guessing my car has heated washer jets im yet to pop one of them out and check if there wires going to them but if they are heated how are they activated ? are the linked to headed mirrors or rear screen etc ? or are they on all the time ?

As far as I know, all A3's have heated jets!

Might not be the case in the 1.6FSI or 1.9TDI older models but I'm near certain they are all heated!
