Help ,Help , Help, Issues after water pump and stat change

Hi All I have just had to change the water pump and stat on my Crec 2014. I had to take the charger off to do it and now after putting it all back last night there is issues

the car struggled to start and there is faults showing. the car wont rev and has a rough idle.

I also had to change the cores inthe super charger so the throttle body has been off but all this is basic and I didn't expect it to not run once back together.

I did wonder if there was a battery issue so have had it on charge but still the same. I get a message that the tyre pressure monitoring system is faulty but i havent touch this as well as a message about the diff again not touched. the car has been sat since Easter when the stat broke.

What have you unplugged as for me its a connection or fuse problem, too many electrical errors to be mechanical.

I'll need to have good look over it again tonight.

I had to unplug a few parts to get the charger off.
 
What made you change the coolers in the charger unit?
while it was off it made sense when you saw them.

I went for aftermarket, You would need to check the part number on yours as they are different in the B8 to the B8.5 Crec. Its on the back of the cooler by the bleed screw
 
You have faults timestamped 2021.04.03 15:58 with voltages as low as 11.66 and then you have ones with a default reset timestamp and the voltage is barely over 12. Then I see some on 2021.04.19 with mostly low voltage but one shows 14V. How do these dates correspond with work you have done? As you know these cars can have false DTCs with low voltage. You need the power to be healthy before you can rely on scans. If your battery is on its way out then a charger might not be able to achieve that because there is too much current going into the battery and not enough for the control units.

So Update.

New battery fitted and the missed throttle body cable Doh, That what happens when trying to do it of an evening after work .

the car now starts and drives but I do have a message saying intake flap bank 2 stuck closed.

I have done a vacuum test and it is connected and i can hear something happening but cant tell by how much.

This is the only intake manifold i took off to do the job is there a way that they should be reinstalled i did check that it opened but only by hand/ fingers.

whats the next step?

update no2. a Quick google and i had the answer I had made the amateur mistake of not opening the flaps before fitting the manifold.

Charger off and on again just need to fit the belt and we are good to go.

This is the first time i have had to work on the engine other than basic service etc so its a steep learning curve.

I can take the super charger off pretty quick though :)

I went with. Mahle ones. At about £150 each.
Oem where £350.
Stock is a problem with most places

also when it arrives check the water pipe end is nice and flat. I had one that had a small dent and had to be returned.

you may also want new prongs for the water pipe. I got these from Audi with the water pump and stat.

Glad to see you got the issue above fixed. My coolers look to be in good shape so going to leave them. Stat and pump being changed on mine today though.
