Help - How Do I Re-Program My Remote?

I have an X-reg (2000) TT and after having the battery replaced my two remote controls don't work to open the doors/boot. Anyone know how I can reprogram them?

If I lock or open the doors manually the alarm goes off so I haven't been locking the doors and taking a chance nobody gets in.

Tried turning the key in the ignition to '2' and holding the unlock button on the fob for 3 seconds?
