Hi all,

New to the forum, but recommended to join by a friend who posts here.

I'm looking at purchasing an Audi A5 TFSi Quattro S Line Coupe from a local Audi dealership. I was wondering if you could all help me?

Do Audi A5's with this engine encounter any notable issues during specific age or mileage intervals?

Car Details: Audi A5 TFSi Quattro S Line Coupe 225 PS 6 Speed
Fuel Type: Petrol
Transmission: Manual
Registration Date: 31.10.13
Mileage: 21,678

Any help is really appreciated!

The information around suggests that this is a good engine and that the previous issues reported by some owners:-
1) Heat damage to pistons/rings causing excessive oil consumption and
2) Carbon build up in the inlet system
Have been sorted with this post 2011 EA888 Gen 3 engine - see attached information

Thank you! So in summary it's a good engine which doesn't encounter any real issues?

My friend tells me it's a VW 2.0 petrol (more or less the same one they use in GTI's) and that it's pretty much bomb proof.

Happy birthday!

Dont think there is anything else to add from Retroman...

AFAIK, there are no known issues with the 2.0TFSI on A5's post 2012.
