HELP PLEASE-ignition problem 2.3 coupe 10v 1991

hi guys,

seems like i got a problem with my ignition, as i cant switch my car off. I can come to a stop and turn the key to the off position and pull out the key, lock the steering but the car still runs. I have got to stall the car and disconnect the battery. When i put the termonal back on the lights on the dash come on, but when you put the key in and turn it nothing happens, so have to push start it. If i need to buy a new ignition barrel, is it a big job to do?

Any advise will be appreciated. Many thanks.

I know someone who had a 10v and the ignition barrel went, actually it was the contacts on the back of the switch so its not a big job.

wont be the barrel it will be the ignition switch connected to it.
