Hi all so I have an audia3 07 plate 2litre diesel I have had alot of work Done on it flywheel clutch coil springs I thought to myself I've had all this work done and come so far so I myswell have the timing belt and water pump done then atleast I know that won't explode on me. So I went ahead and had the belt done and then I was driving it the next day gave it a bit of beans going up a slight hill and as I let my foot of the gas to change gear herd a massive bang and then lost all power and car sounded very loud like it didnt have an exaust anymore or summin there was no smoke at the time of this happening but the car had hardly any power I managed to get it to a nearby housing estate. I then turned it of and started it back up to move it to a more accessible location about 20 yards away and it kind of just hopped there it sounded terrible like a metealic kind of noise as well as the no exuast sound I then left the car and went home came back to it later to get few bits out of it turned it on again and tried to rev it to 2k but it was just all over the place and loads of white smoke coming out of exaust and the bonnet just wondering if this could be related in anyway to the belt that's just been done or is it just somethign else just very strange how this has happened littrley the next day within 30 miles of it being done

I don't know if any of u guys are familiar with that program the curse of oak island were they go looking for the money pit well i think I've found it

Need to remove intake piping to check state, but hills with that experience sounds like turbo gone.

Is it a bkd engine code, whereabouts are you based?

Hi yes it is the 2litre ime based in Penzance cornwall I have got a mobile mechanic coming to look at it next week but ime pretty certain she's a gonner I was thinking it could be a blown turbo pipe from what ive read online but also read that would prodice black smoke not white

Make sure he's vag aware, in other words he knows Audi's.

If its a bkd I've changed out & cleaned numerous turbos tbh.

Hi so the garage that did the cambelt came and towed the car back to there place they checked it over and told me it was an engine pipe that had blew off but wasent to do with them but have reattached it anyhow my worry is now its just guna happen again surly there is a reason it has come off? What I did notice thinking bout it was bout a week or so before it happened I started noticing a noise when I lifted my foot of throttle like the turbo flutter noise alot more so when in a lower gear and from what I've read online is that this is caused by the turbine still spinning and pushing air into engine but because the throttle shut has no were to go and edxits through the blades so ime wondering if there to much pressure in there and it caused that pipe to blow off.

It happens sometimes, nothing major, the clips, fixings sometimes wear but 99% time they just push back in ok.

You can put a metal hose pipe clamp over the clip to hold it in tight (obviously don’t overtighten as it’s plastic)

Thanks everyone for replies I got it back from garage and really thrashed it and it seems to be OK fingers crossed my next problem is this rattle I've been having it's driving me mad I have taken the car to a vag specialist garage and they told me there was some loose engine parts causing it so they checked it all over and fixed everything in place I go to collect it and I can still hear the noise I then took it back and they told me it was a broken coil spring cuaisng the noise so I've had that done and suprise suprise the noise is still there its a really wierd one basicly it seems to change with we're the Car is parked and also how the wheels are turned its like something to do with the weight distribution or something I can sometimes hear it when I come to slow the car down and also whilst sat at idle but it's mostly say when ime turning to the right never hear it when turning left here is a video I've uploaded to YouTube of it anyhelp would be apricated cus it's driving me insane https://youtube.com/shorts/pWpq2MY_V3o?feature=share
