A friend of mine is having some problems with his S2. Its been in storage for a while but was fine last time it was out. The problem seems to be, we think its overfueling- black smoke n realy sooty exh. its no where near what power it seems very hesitant to rev and once it gets to say 3k + when i should be coming on boost its just nothing,no power at all, holds back, wont rev. Can Anyone Help out? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/noidea.gif

Try the above, also cold start injector failure (100 backfiring) Sounds also like the fuel pump has failed, so now the car has to "Sook" the fuel through as opposed being pushed through, hence the lack of boost and struggle to gain power, another possible cause is a faulty fuel rail regulator can also cause the same...

Really without knowing more or seiing the car it becomes hard to diagnose.... but at least there are some ideas for you to look at....

It is a boost leak.

Check all boost hoses and vaccum hoses.

It is smoking because it is getting metered air in, but it is escaping after the MAF and running very rich.
