Hi I've just recently purchased a mk1 TT with a 1.8t 225 BAM engine.
I've just replaced all the breather and vacuum hoses and fitted a catch can along with a Badger 5 80mm intake hose.
Trying to get everything right before I start adding power but noticed I have some play in the turbo shaft it moves from hot side to cold side by about 3 - 4mm or so. I've been advised that thus is too much play and even thought its not smoking I now know it needs sorting before it gets worse.
I'm looking for somewhere reputable that I can get either a recon unit or if I can buy a new (none chinese) hotside housing and a new cartridge. Obviously I don't want to end up spending a fortune after just buying the car, and the fact that while I'm there I may aswel fit a 3" downpipe going on the fact it's got to come off to swap the turbo.
I don't think being new I can send p.m's unless I'm wrong.
