I have just joined the forum as I am hopefully going to buy a A4 Convertible B6 3.0 TDI
I am particulary interested intially as to what the opinion is of 3.0 TDI engine is like for reliability, economy, common failure issues, recommendations etc, or have I chosen the wrong engine, and should I go for the 2.5 TDI, what's the must have options to try to find etc.
Any pointers welcome.

Hi, can't comment on the 3.0 tdi but I did have an C5 A6 with the 2.5tdi V6 and I really liked that engine, only down side was I never much more than 28-30mpg driving around locally and not much improvement on a long run maybe 34-36mpg if I was lucky. That said it was a quattro and I did used to clog it everywhere back in the day
