Hi Everyone,

My car is experiencing a high pitched sound (louder than normally) when engaging or disengaging the parking brake.

My rear pads need to be changed soon, so am wondering if it's just a result of them being low and the mechanism needing to work hard to put the brakes on?

Anyone else experience anything like this before?

Not had this but my indi did warn me about getting the rear brakes soaking wet and them failing / sticking.

Thanks for the heads up, although I've not had them soaking wet as we don't get much rain or anything and when I wash the car I don't go leaving the hose on the brakes for long.

I guess it's best to throw some new pads on next week or so and hope the noise goes back to normal, I used to quite like the noise they make, but this just sounds like a small pig is squealing for a second or so.

I think he was talking about big puddles etc, it's got to be worth sticking a new set on, could be the Pistons getting to the full extent of travel, I think you need vcds to retract them.

I used the Carista app (beta version) to do mine.
