Interesting. But why did you cut up the black cover and stick it next to the induction coil?

To use less glue to fill up the gap and have a flat ish surface...
TBH I waited for everyone to be asleep to sneak to the garage and ended doing it between 11pm and 2 am. I wish I would have done it cleaner but I just wanted to finish...

Best solution would be to pour resin/gelcoat but...

Good thing is that the little rubber mat hides all the "shameful bits" and the position is spot on! Phone charges consistently regardless of how it is sitting (i.e. charging port facing forward or backward).

And since the pad is plugged into a QC3.0 port fast charging is on the menu!
