Andy Poole (Audi Sport Specialist) at Stafford Audi contacted me today, 4 June 2019, to say:

"Audi are building a limited number of RS4 and RS5 cars, maybe 250, and that these cars will not be generally advertised but released to dealers for them to sell."

Andy tells me:

"Stafford Audi will be getting two RS4's, one RS5 coupe, and one RS5 Sportback."

Anyone interested in acquiring one of these cars should contact Andy Poole at Stafford Audi:

Why? When they've gone back on general sale in a number of European countries, so why limited numbers for the UK?

I am hoping this limited number of RS5/RS4 will help residual values..

Yep, Audi Sport Edition, just loaded it on my iPhone... can load up Sportback too..

So it appears many of the extras can no longer be specified separately, all part of the standard equipment and basic price of car rises.. So most cars will be north of £71k before discount..

Agreed, definitely seeing a substantial hike in Audi' RRP on the refreshed models across the range, though substantial discounts can be found via Internet sellers.

Well Im in the UK!

Its on the iPad Audi Configurator App.

Weird that it’s not on the website.

Notice the base price is up by around seven grand. No option for full leather seats. Carbon edition wheels now a no cost option and black badges are standard. As is piano black inlays and black exterior trim.

Sunroof, privacy glass, RS exhaust, Audi phone box all standard now but lots of options are now missing.

No 360 camera, carbon interior or exterior trim, Magnetic ride (or whatever they’re calling it these days), Auto Parking, Lane Assist all missing. Assume multicolour LED interior is now standard.

No Matrix headlights? No 174mph too speed option on an Audi Sport edition seems strange.

All of the above seems to point to a limited run before the facelift is out.

Agreed, this sounds like a RHD parts bin raid to end the year so that will be it until FL. I got one of the ~40 Carbon editions but I think the residuals will still suffer with new cars being available.

"An Audi spokesperson said these 500 units are likely to be the final RS5 models sold before a particulate filter is installed as part of a range update in 2020."

It will but not as much as if they had stayed on general sale for the entire time ans certainly fairing much better than C63 and M4

500 of both RS4 and RS5 should not damage the residuals too much. Looks like there was under 1,000 cars registered in 2018..
