How much does the 1BE sports suspension lower the car over standard? I'm loooking at upgrading the suspension on my A4 B5, but it bottoms out enough already so lowering more isn't really an option.

How does you car bottom out may i ask?

Does anyone else's do this?

I have never had this yet and am just wondering if it is common.

Or do you mean the front just hits curbs or ramps? Or that the suspension no longer has anymore travel in it?

Mine's a 2000 quatsport, sits nicely, and has never (yet) bottomed out...
(I know cos I've had to get very personal with the bottom of the car!:doctor: )

Could you do me a favour please Hiltoa since you also have a 1.8T quattro?

Could you measure from the centre of your wheel to the arch when you get time?

I just want to see how much i have lowered mine.

Thanks.

Unmodified 2000 A4 avant 1.8T quattro sport ride height:
(vertically from wheel centre to wheelarch)
Front 364mm
Rear 346mm

my 1.8t sport measures 375mm front, 350mm rear.( does this sound right)

Soupie69uk: I have to be really careful on speed humps and hump-backed bridges as the undertray grounds. I reckon its worse because my car has a diesel engine.

Cheers for doing that mate.

I checked mine and the front is 303mm, and the rear is 298mm.

Ok i just wondered as this never happened to mine but sometimes does not that its lowered. But i just take it really easy over speed bumps.

i have a 2.5 v6 heavy lump, you have to drive slowly, i once got the under tray caught and it broke it, so i stiffened the front shocks up and now its fine. just dont drive to fast over speed humps etc.. (mine is dropped apparently 45mm from standard but its more like 60 at the front, and 40 at the rear.)

just had front supension arms and gsf lowering springs fitted- 355mm,front
355mm rear.
will probably settle a little lower in time.
