Question as per title really - my TFSi (BUL) idles lumpily - it actually makes the car shake.
I think the idle speed is a bit too slow (around 800 revs) as a very tiny increase with the throttle pedal smooths things out. Therefore, I would like to increase it a little permanently.
Is this something that can be done with VCDS?

That RPM is spot on, mine sits dead on 800 when warm.
check you don't have a small vacuum leak somewhere as that will cause a lumpy idle, it doesn't need to be big leak either.
also check you PCV is working properly, another source for lumpy idling.

do a vcds real-time check with a warm engine and see what rpm it is idling at.

Have you looked into PCV issues? Mine was a bit like that before I replaced the valve and after it was spot on at 800.
