My friend Rob owns a stunning Evo FQ340 MR. His dad bought it at 6 months old had a load of high class HKS modifications done and imported it into England as a nearly new car.

Rob has kept it in perfect mechanical condition, doing sub 1000 miles a year, servicing every 6 months at the best specialist in the country. Mechanically it's never wanted for anything, and it's mileage is unbelievably low.

What Rob doesn't do is clean. I have been badgering him for years to let me clean it for him, and he has never been fussed. But this weekend the planets aligned, and we got in with it.

The vehicle was washed with Britemax Clean Max PH balanced shampoo.

Iron-X'd to death.

Cut with Chemical Guys V32 and a yellow Hexlogic pad.

Polished with Cherry Glaze and a green Dodo Juice fin cut pad.

Re glazed with Cherry Glaze and a dodo fin cut finishing pad.

Waxed with Dodo Juice Hard Candy.

And finished with Zaino Grand Finale.

Befores and afters.

It was fully exhausting, but so rewarding to bring this rare beast back up to scratch.

Have some general "look how pretty I am" pictures.

Cleaned and dried, this is what I started with.

Well done mate, that looks like a different car now!!

Its so satisfying to see the end result on a car when its in that state.

Could live with carbon bonnet to a degree but wings don't look right, could possibly pull it off with black paintwork

Fantastic results though, looks great

You know you've got it bad when you 'want' to detail your mates cars too :D

Mop...

Please enlighten me of what you intend to do with a mop.

The finish looks amazing...such a difference!! What did you use polish up the carbon?? Got a carbon bonnet thats gone milky from the sun and could do with a good polish!!
