Inlet manifold runner flap delete

hi guys iv got a 59 plate vw Tiguan tdi r line 140 I’m looking at getting the darkside runner flap delete kit but I can’t find an answer to one question

Will I need the ecu map modified to tell it the runner flaps been removed or bypassed or is it just remove fit and forget ??

Engine in question is a 2.0 tdi CBAB
