Interim service/oil change?

It flashed up yesterday on my dash that I was due an oil change in either 29 days or 5900 miles.

Today it has decided it is 26 days now. So im not sure why it has taken 3 days of the timer in 1 day?

Apparently the car has sensors that will decide when the oil changes should be, would short journeys mean more oil changes?

I presume im looking at about £160.

Fixed price oil service is £159 at Audi stealers presently. Annoying really for £40 of oil and filter.
