Looks good, I'll have to wait until someone does the round version to make sure it doesn't mess with any of the potential sensors in the rim or anything. I don't fancy being the first! Haha.Once my upgraded steering wheel arrives with red stitching, red 12 o clock leather ring it will tie in further with the red vents. Same as picture, and have also gone for TTRS buttons, as these are plug and play
Well my install wont be for many months LOL. To be honest the standard wheel is identical to the 8V and lots of chaps have altered them, like @T-1000Looks good, I'll have to wait until someone does the round version to make sure it doesn't mess with any of the potential sensors in the rim or anything. Already ordered a set. Thanks and @Mastachazyeah sure! The Hook tool is from Amazon and @Mastachaz will have the link

Hahaha i dont care and he as well trust meJeff Bezos will be wondering why the sudden purchase surge of vent removal tools is happening
I will.send one back as well and keep.one.when rs3 arrive or I decide to.sell.s3yes, will do. ta
Regarding the wheel, he means the full circle one as we have the extra sensors in wheel, the flat bottom one is not a issue to change out as they have no sensorsWell my install wont be for many months LOL. I went for the full air bag option and the cover/badges as per the pic. Can then sell on the OEM wheel
I'll be getting that and the vents done at PDI stage as my son is good mates with one of the master techs at the dealership

I dont get why etron has flst bottom.and rs3 not i think its a lie
RS e-tron GT you get flat bottom Alcantara steering wheel even with Adaptive Cruise Assist selected... according to the configuratorPass
EDIT: Actually, if you add the assistance pack to the e-tron which includes the lane keeping assistance you can't get a flat bottomed wheel. On the Q4, you can have the flat bottomed (and top?!) wheel but it also doesn't have the lane keeping assistance feature so it looks like they're not actually lying.

Yeah, I think that we have established through a bunch of posts that it's not the adaptive cruise that forces the round wheel, it's actually the lane keeping function. It just so happens that it's included in a pack with the RS3 so you can't have one without the other.RS e-tron GT you get flat bottom Alcantara steering wheel even with Adaptive Cruise Assist selected... according to the configurator
Yeah I've just referred to it as Adaptive Cruise Assist which is adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and active lane assist combinedYeah, I think that we have established through a bunch of posts that it's not the adaptive cruise that forces the round wheel, it's actually the lane keeping function. I know what you mean, I just don't feel like any of the descriptions in the RS e-tron GT config cover the same description the A3 chassis has - 'Adaptive Cruise Assist. Combines Adaptive Cruise Control with lane centre guidance to support the driver with accelerating, braking and maintaining distances, as well as helping them to stay in lane.'Yeah I've just referred to it as Adaptive Cruise Assist which is adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and active lane assist combined
Driver assistance systems
Audi assists drivers with a broad range of assistance systems – from turn and parking assistants to the camera-based road sign recognition. They deliver more safety, convenience and efficiency, and they pave the way for piloted driving.www.audi-mediacenter.com
What I'm trying to say is the RS e-tron GT seems to have everything the RS3 has, but you can have a flat bottom Alcantara steering wheel on the e-tron
- RS3 configurator lists it as "Adaptive cruise assist with emergency assist"
- RS e-tron GT configurator lists "Adaptive Cruise Assist" and "Lane departure warning with emergency assist"
What about the RS6 with Tour Pack selected? Configurator still shows a flat bottom wheel (although not Alcantara):I know what you mean, I just don't feel like any of the descriptions in the RS e-tron GT config cover the same description the A3 chassis has - 'Adaptive Cruise Assist. It's the bits in bold that I imagine will require the driver to keep hold of the steering wheel and I've not found that same kind of description for the other cars that have the flat bottomed wheel available with the adaptive cruise selected. I could well just be missing it, but I've not seen it on any other models with those features.
Not sure about RS6, but on the A6 you can’t have FBSW with your pack. What about the RS6 with Tour Pack selected? Configurator still shows a flat bottom wheel (although not Alcantara):
Adaptive Cruise Assist
Supports the driver when accelerating, braking, maintaining distances, and with steering in the range of 0–155mph.* Within the system limits, the system detects the lane markings, structures next to the road, vehicles in adjacent lanes and multiple vehicles ahead. The system can be adjusted in single and 6mph increments between 19mph and 155mph.* The system will keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane and maintain speed and distance, or adjust the speed to the situation...

No red 12 o clock ring on steering wheel??? - I NEED THAT FOOT REST BUT CANT GET IN RHDforgot I saw rs3 with round alcantara steering wheel and standard dash plus red vents View attachment 248138

That is wierd as all the RS3's on the config have the 12'o clock stripe with the design pack so how there ended up being one without it is very strange! you can't spe a wheel with or without one anywhere...No red 12 o clock ring on steering wheel??? - I NEED THAT FOOT REST BUT CANT GET IN RHD

I have looked a couple of times after you have mentioned that but I cant find it anywhere?None of us actually considered adding the exclusive interior option?? steering wheels coverings is one of them ....hence the car with 12 bells marker but as a package in red or green it would have been cheaper than buying all new parts/coverings for the interior
yesterday some guy on facebook claim audi is doing vents in 7 color ;-) i dont know what he takes , as catalog has only 2
I think you'd have to find out the details and costs directly from the dealerI have looked a couple of times after you have mentioned that but I cant find it anywhere?
