Hi! Looking for some help, no garages have found the cause yet...

Basically there is a loud creaking noise coming from the driver footwell, directly above the brake.

The creak only happens with sudden movement i.e pulling away from still, braking to a complete stop. There is no sound when the car is stationary. The sound seems more prominent inside the cabin than outside.

I’ve had a new track control arm fitted and brake pads, this has not fixed the problem!

any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

thank you!

Sounds very similar to my problem. Still waiting for second diagnose from Audi Bristol.

Uploaded a video of the noise on YouTube. It’s actually a lot louder outside than what I had initially thought!

Sounds like some sort of dry or damaged suspension bush, maybe anti-roll bar related? Do you hear it when you drive over speed bumps?

Good idea with the video. Mine sounds more like a click so I suspect a different nature.

Just an update, went to an Audi specialist today, they took the car out for a road test and confirmed the noise comes from one of the upper control arm bushings/ball joint, booked in for a repair on the 29th (one of the best VAG specialist in Edinburgh hence the v long wait)!
