Introduce a mandatory prison sentence for vehicle theft.

The level of violence thieves are using is increasing.

Last week a 4 week old baby was kidnapped during a vehicle theft.

Let’s keep it safe and make a difference.

Unfortunately this will never get passed because there would have to be so much other crime upped to mandatory prison sentence to match.
Then there would be no room to house them all.

Have signed, not because I expect the legislation to get passed, but in the hope that it at least, if enough signatures are reached, some kind of parliamentary discussion on car-jacking/aggressive vehicle theft follows - it seems to be on an upward trend and the culprits are getting bolder.

I don’t waste my time worrying about it, I just take sensible precautions wherever possible and get on with enjoying my life, but the video of an S3 getting car-jacked below is exactly why I’d never take mine to the likes of Birmingham.

Signed. What I find really tough is, if you walk into a bank and steal £40k you go to prison. Steal a £40k car and get nothing or a driving ban and a fine.
