Key fob battery replacement

I'm looking to replace the batteries in one/both of my remote key fobs. Can anyone confirm that it's simply a case of replacing the cell and that not coding or any such is required?

B8.5, no start/stop ignition button, fobs have boot opening button and lock/unlock.

Hi mate, I've got an 2012 a4 and just replaced the battery. No issues.

Place it in and before you put bk on key hold battery down and check it opens / closes car if you have beeps
