Facelift Keyless fault

Car decided today to stop locking with the keyless - touch the door handle feature.

Unlocking as it should but not locking.,

Any ideas? Anyone had the issue?

How old is the car? Could be a weak battery?

Have you tried it on the passenger door handle and also with the spare key?

Bit left field but did you have gloves on?

By accident I noticed while rinsing my keyless Golf with a metal watering can that if the keys are in your pocket you can get the car to lock if you tip water on the door handle. Maybe it needs a micro electrical connection between the key and door to activate the lock that your glove insulated.

Yeh tried both doors and both keys

No gloves. but have used it with gloves with no problem before

At least you’re covered under warranty!

Well it’s back to working again now.. though something to keep an eye on.

Keyless can have its gremlins especially in cold weather
