I've had my b8 now for about 3 weeks and am loving it, I'm still like a kid with a new toy! I mentioned in a different post that I was shocked that there was no light in the glove box, so the other day whilst buying a few bits from Audi I asked how much a light for the glovebox would be,after five mins of looking on the computer at the set up of my car the guy said "no sorry we don't do a glovebox light for your car"..... I'm still trying to come to terms with this, I know it's not the end of the world but I refuse to believe the guy at audi And also refuse to believe that my neighbour has one in his T - reg escort and I don't in my £16, 000 Audi....My car is a '60 plate avant 2.0 s-line. So basically every one of you with the same car/year as mine has no light in your gloveboxes??

Ok so I probably should have looked a bit harder on the forum. I found a few threads about this issue and apparently it IS an optional extra/part of a 'light pack'.... Audi could have told me this rather than saying "there is no glovebox light for your car"!!

Have a look at my build thread theres a link in the signature. Details on how to fit one, it's not that hard. I agree with you that a car costing as much as these do should have a glove box light. It is part of a light pack that includes front footwell lights and lights in the vanity mirrors.
I had a glove box light and lights on the vanity mirrors on my 2002 SE Passat.
AFAIK the option for the lights is available to any car so some people will have glove box lights.

If you need the kit, give T8ups a shout, as he can supply the lot for whole interior led upgrade, I've done a load for clients.

Its quite a straight forward job mate not to hard to do if you have abit of knowledge just drop the glovebox

I fell for this one to ......

Installing the glove box and door lighting is quite easy to do as I had to do it to my new A4 as like you I just missed it as my old A4 ( 2004 ) had the lighting kit and I assumed it would be there as standard by now ...

Since getting mine I have added :-

Glove Box Light
Door Lighting
Under Seat Lighting
Under Seat Storage

I will be replacing the std mirrors with folding ones as soon as I have the time to fit them.
