Leather cleaning

I have the S line leather/cloth combination. I would like to know what do you use to treat/maintain the leather?

After cleaning put on some Gliptone conditioner, that stuff has been around for over 50 years for a reason, its amazing.

Infact I heard Jassy was now using it as a suntan lotion as it kept him looking so youthful...

I use Audi's own leather cleaner, just rub it in and leave it. I know its great because it brings the leather back to life and gives it that dark grey colour not that dried out grey look it had before putting it on. Plus it gives the inside that "new car" leather smell.

I did the whole of the inside yesterday(well the leather bits)

Always remember a leather reupholstery specialist telling me this.

Its impossible to clean and condition leather in the same product.

Kinda makes sense and Ive always stuck by that. One product for cleaning, one for conditioning.

the key is to simply wipe it down from general dust on regular occasion, using a damp cloth. You can use a few drops of regular liquid dishwashing soap (not dishwasher type), then condition only about once per year. You do not need to condition leather often at all unless you have a convertible or your live in a very warm, dry climate. Leather should be treated naturally as close as you can...be conservative on the products that you use.

Just bough the original Audi Leather cleaner.. to give it a go.. i will report back

My car will b 1 year old in July.. any idea how ofter i need to apply the leather care product?

My car is just over 2 years and 44k miles. I wipe with Dr. Leather wipes about 3-4 times per year and the seats are like new.

Indeed it is coated.

However, quality auto leather cleaners and conditioners can still migrate through that layer to nourish the leather.

However, generally, there is no need to for such conditioners, just a gentle cleanse with a damp MF cloth.

As far as leather conditioners go,you only get what you pay for. Good ones cost, also a good conditioner will reduce friction on the seating area,ie less friction less wear...but we are talking Audi A3/S3 here which is beyond help no matter what you use,l am afraid to say

Gliptone for me as well, used it on my last few cars. Cleans well, smells great and the conditioner leaves the leather feeling and looking forward great

I don't want anything left on the PU coated leather

I also don't want a low friction finish

Others might like silicon for a ripper frictionless finish, no thanks

You try keeping lunar silver leather spotless mate trust me it ain't easy and in the case of Audi's leather every little helps

In a new York minute, SS seat's next time though but not in lunar silver,black with red stitching or rotor grey.
Not keen on super sport seats in Lunar silver leather
