LIMP MODE

a4 2.0 tdi auto 2005
while accelerating the car lost power(limp mode?) no warning lights so pulled over ignition off-ignition on and drove fine again.
there was a fault code-overboost-on diagnostic, any ideas?

this could be a number of things but i would start with looking for a split vaccum pipe or maybe one has popped off

As stated it could a host of things... Airmass, Leak sticking VVT. At 7 years old and if the Airmas hasn't been done that's were I would start. To see if any of the pipes are leaking have a look and see if there is any oil leaking out of them. Your car has a small amount of oil being blown around all the time and a good sign of an air leak is the oil getting past the joints.
