Hi i have had this before but with normal driving its fine but yesterday i had someone behind me and got a little annoyed at how close he was driving to me so got to the traffic lights and then at green put my foot down and when i got to 50 i lost power and wouldn't go any quicker then after stopping wouldnt go past 30 (luckly its a 60 to 30 so i didnt end up holding anyone up) after i turnd the car off and back on no limp mode and drives fine any idea whats wrong. My car is an audi a3 2.0tdi with dsg gear box

Ive had a look and they look like it could be my turbo or map i might ring and talk to some macanics as its due for a service. And im going to talk to a guy who specialises in remaps. I know it isnt the dpf as my cars never had one.

Where would i be able to get one of them done?
Have a look at the Vcd's section on the site and look at the MAP as you might find someone very close to you who is willing to Autoscan for you for a few beer tokens unless you get a garage who wont charge you for a diagnostic

Havent had any replys about vcd yet but have used my handheld diagnostic tool and ive got no codes

Next time it goes into limp mode don’t switch engine off and read the code, using your regular obd2 scanner. This will give a quick indication of the currency active DTC.

Although VCDS can read in deeper into the PCM and gearbox stored DTCs.

3rd gearup hill pull will let you determine if the turbo is over boosting. Just don’t do it with traffic behind you

I’d recommend just searching that term, it’s very common. Both google and Audi Sport would have it.

On my way to work i floord it and it didnt go into limp mode went past the speed and revs it usaly happends. Im thinking it its a carbon bulid up could me going longer way to work and a few long journeys have cleared some of it and letting the turbo work right
