Last new thread for me tonight.

With the credit crunch and falling car sales most dealers are willing to offer large discounts except for Audi who saw the recession coming and decided not to have anything to do with it.

What is the maximum discount that people have managed to get from Audi dealers when ordering a new car without going through a broker? I managed to get 10% off the list price.

Thanks

I also got 10% together with a better than expected trade-in price for my previous A3.

Initial discussions with local dealer gave a miserly 1.25%:sob:
And no, thats not a typing error.
To sweeten the deal further a low px was offered.
Certainly made the decision easy.

Can't name and shame yet - need to see if they do a follow up call first.

I got 11.5% (£2000) initially and it was not hard work.
Then I got 10% + scrappage
Go at the beginning of the month showing keen interest to buy and keep the salesman sweet.
Do not accept dealers offer straight away. Then get other dealers to better the price and hope that your original dealer comes back to you by the end of the month when he is desperate for a sale.
Also use the internet brokers as a way of getting a discount.

Low part exchange, virtually no discount?? i can only think youve been to the same dealer as me...

Broadspeed and Autobytel appear to offer around 10% at face value.

I think some real quotes from them next and see if dealer wants to play.
