Hi all, not been on here for a while but I'm looking into getting an S5 around 2007 and I'm not sure what to look out for.. Common faults/quirk etc.

The car I'm looking at in particular is a 57reg v8 S5 with 65k on the clock FSH. It looks to be in good condition and well look after by what looks to be an enthusiast.

Anyone got any pointers maybe advice on any repairs that might need to carried out soon at this mileage?

Cheers, James

Apart from the generic consumables like brakes etc. the s5's are prone to a clutch issues which requires it to be replaced at a costly 2k. Look out for having to absolutely bury the clutch to the floor to start the car and for a sticky clutch (the pedal doesn't travel back towards you smoothly), apart from that there is the carbon build up issue. There are a couple of threads on both subjects at a5oc.

I looked at one yesterday and it ticked all the boxes. Very smooth gear changes and clutch seemed good. I pick it up sometime next week. Cant wait!!
