Hi all,

Ive had cars with coilovers in the past, but they are alot of money to get some worth putting on your car,so for now i was thinking of putting just springs on.Is this a good idea?ive heard a few horror stories about the standard shocks giving in after a while.Any info much appreciated.

cheers

Been running H&Rs for 10months or so, popular choice, and rightly so.
Tightens everything up nicely, sits the car down into a more purposeful stance.
Vastly reduces body roll and makes the car feel more responsive without being too harsh.
Can be a little bit bouncy on some roads though but worth it.
If the car hasnt done a lot of miles and the dampers are in good order then you should be ok if you stick with 25mm drop.
Wont pretend to be a chassis expert but can speak from experience.
4 wheel alignment is critical after fitting springs though.
I got my springs when Awesome had a discount running and paid £180, the £100 to a local fitter + £65 for 4wheel align at a Nationwide tyre fitter.

Good luck

Cheers
Paul
