Lubricating noisy folding mirrors

Anyone any tips for silencing creaking noisy mirrors as the fold up and down?

Is it a question of removing the glass to get to the springs for squirting some grease in there or something?

Any tips would be great, cheers.

Well I removed the glass on each side and sprayed liberal amounts of silicone lubricant on the springs and we seem to be in better shape. Bonus too - removed the family of spiders living in there too...
