So for a while now I've been noticing a harsh mechanical noise when accelerating hard (right corner) makes a lot more noise then left or straight driving for some reason.

It's like something goes out of alignment when the noise happens but I can't figure it out.

The Audi service specialist rode with me in the car while i was driving aggressively through corners and he heard the sound and told me it was normal as the quattro system is being engaged and thus makes this noise.

I'm quite skeptical about this since he has Audi's favor at heart and not mine and as my warranty is coming to an end soon, he is most probably just saying this to save his ***.

Here's a short audio recording of the noise I hear:

Would be great to know if anyone has a clue what this could be.

Try a second dealer/get a second opinion?

I have no idea, but note the odd noises you get from, say, anti-lock brakes or other traction control systems and I'd not be surprised if the first specialist was correct.

Hopefully someone in here has had similar noises?

I actually have a similar problem at the moment. It turned out to be a loose bolt on the right side lower engine mount. One bolt actually came completely loose and the other snapped causing the engine to move drastically under load and move everything out of alignment. Worth a look as I had similar symptoms as you until it snapped and became obvious.
