MFSW Not Working S3 8P '09

I have a FBMFSW on my S3 on the weekend I disconnected the air bag and removed it from the wheel to change out the surround from silver to black.
I put it all back together and clipped the loom back in.
This morning in the dark on the way to work I noticed the lights weren't on the wheel and the controls didn't work.
Do i have to re-enable this through vagcom?
Or am I just being a donut and missed something?

Doughnut maybe if you didn't reconnect the small black connector too.

I thought I did that, will check again. Seems odd as i thought horn was put through that as that works

Horn shares common negative, but it's not part of that connector directly.

After I've disconnected the air bag and ran the car I've got a red airbag light.
For re-installing it do I just connect up turn car on then reset via vcds?
