Does anyone have, or know anyone with this?

http://millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=1593

I am very interested in getting an AVC, but unsure which at present and I cannot seem to find any information anywhere on Milltek's offering. Also cost quoted is pretty high,

I wondered if anyone knows anyone or is able to get discount with Milltek?

Finally, does anyone else with an AVC unit (which ever type) remember if it added to their insurance premium?

I've got the AVC controller on mine (cete automotive one) and i really like it, plus the side effect of having it fitted is i don't have the cold start up rattle no more.

Did it make a difference to insurance? Or PM me if don't want to publicise the answer :D

A little but i changed a few things at the same time (eibach, intake/air filter) cost me an extra £30.

AVC classed as an exhaust mod with my insurers.

Much appreciated.

I also have the Cete automotive one, and for me the best part is that the start-ups are much quieter, before installing it everyone would look when I started up the car, now it is much more like a normal car, which I like because the RS3 is my daily.

Although I have to say I had a electronic conflicts with this module, all my AC and vents controller when nuts for 2 days, could not use the car at all. AC stopped working, when I closed and leave the car the ventilation would still be running, I had absolutely zero control on it, could not regulate it, etc. Bad experience, but somehow after 2 days it solved itself out.

Isn’t there an Audi equivalent of BimmerLink for BMW or similar??

I used BimmerLink for opening the valves etc on my M cars until I got JB4 fitted as that does it too.

My insurance already have an exhaust mod against my car because of me declaring the sports exhaust :sly:

What intake do you have out of curiosity?

Hadn't heard of this before but sounds great if you can do quiet startup for my morning/late shifts.

Any links to where you got it and cost and how easy it was to fit and use.
Hoping one can fit in standard exhaust

Or there is the ASR unit which comes with a key fob remote or you can upgrade the switch assembly to have a dash button.
It's not can based so you have to make sure the valves are open when pressing on if you use comfort mode but it does give you slightly more individual control of the valves

Very interested in this.

So trying to make out on the website what is what. In dynamic both valves are open on cold start and everything yes? In Auto they are back into the OEM operation of opening and closing? Comfort totally closed.

My question is, can you configure individual with these modes for the “Engine Sound” setting to change? So on a motorway trip I could retain the dynamic setting for engine/gearbox, but put the valve control into Auto so they open / close as OEM?

Sorta, just use the ESP button double tap and it will close the valves until you reach the safety rpm limit, 4000, then they will open again.

Also, if in comfort and double tap the ESP button, this open the valves. It's like a manual over-ride on demand.

You can use the TC button as an override whatever mode you're in mate. a double press will open/close the valves.
I believe all 3 choices here, ASR, AVC and Milltek have this mode, The prices vary massively I just don't know what one to go for!!

Need to check Insurance haha

Why tell insurance?

@monopole has explained it to a T

Fitting is a breeze

Operation simples

Although driving along in Comfort and double tapping the ESC button to give it instant noise is laughable

Cold start is bonkers but best of all no rattle winning.

Are you saying cold start is gone full stop? or only when you start the car with the valves closed?

I start mine valves open

SOLD!! I need to get one then, Despite the simplicity the install has been set out with, I am an absolute sucker for c**king things up, So I might get my VAG specialist to install it for me haha

Does it remember they are open? each time? or do you have to cycle through like OEM?

If they are open they are open.............with this they are any way......

It fully remembers your last setting.

Plus I am certain it eliminates the cold start rattle, even in valve closed configuration.

Now that’s something worth having, the memory.

I think I’m sold!

The Milltek one is different, it has a bluetooth app to control you exhaust, cause we all need that haha.

No issues with anything

Ghost has no bearing on this.

In fact you’ll always get an error with ghost because it’s designed to interrupt the immobiliser authorisation... no errors from using this, unless you fit it with ignition on etc...

If you ain’t got VCDS to clear such errors then ignition off but keep passenger door open let the car power down then remove trim and fit.
