I can't for the life of me find the options sticker. Normally I'd expect to find it in the boot by the spare wheel - but there doesn't seem to be one. I have taken out the space saving spare wheel and the jack - so it may be under the battery or the B&O subwoofer (I assume that's what it is). I have also looked in the two side compartments in the boot.

Annoyingly the car didn't come with the owners manual (which I've now replaced), so the second sticker that is usually in with these is also missing.

Is there any where else it could be? Or would I need to do to Audi and see if they can provide the options list by using the VIN?

@Stonefish by "owners manual" I mean the whole of the black fabric wallet that contains all the handbooks that came with the car, which includes the service history book.

Out of interest, what is the age of your car and where did you purchase it from? (sorry if you told us in an earlier thread)

Edit:- I've just checked my February 2011 reg'd S4 and the sticker is clear to see on the lefthand side of the spare wheel well as soon as you lift the mat up, so no need to remove spare wheel etc - normally.

You really do need to get in touch with Audi, either at your local dealer or Audi UK direct as it does sound potentially a bit sinister/convenient that both the handbook pack and the Build Data sticker are missing!

Was this car bought as a declared "rebuilt write off" - maybe run some other checks on it to prove that you have legal ownership of it?

@rum4mo it's Dec'13 and was purchased from a user car dealer who specialises in ex-company cars. The original owner was LEX Autolease (owned by Lloyds TSB) – so I can sort of see how the handbook pack lost its way from the car in that situation.

Usually the data sticker is stuck to an exposed body panel, but in my spare wheel well it's all lined with that felt like material so there isn't really anything to stick it to down there?

I have been to Audi today and they provided me will a full 5 page print out of all the PR codes for the car

Ah, so that car is okay! I don't know about B8.5 cars, so can't comment on the lining material, but it sounds a bit silly if it is masking that build data sticker!

That print out that you have been given, I'm guessing is titled "CAR DATA" and is a lot more useful if you hold onto that car for long, than the "build data" sticker!

Edit:- this might sound stupid, my I might have found one under the boot mat, ie stuck to the underside of the mat - though that might just be a duff thought/recall!

Why can't these leasing companies make sure that returned cars have their documentation complete when returned - idiots. Mind you Lloyds-TSB when they existed as a single entity were not too smart to bank with! (I accidentally drifted across to Lloyds and to date I have had two payouts for them getting things wrong, it fills an empty moment forcing them to get things right!)

Yes, it's title "car data", and I'm planning on having the car until it's 10 or 11.

I haven't got a "mat" as such. It's a solid floor, that's reversible. One side is carpeted and the other is rubberised – useful if carrying something wet/dirty.

Daft question maybe, but what's a option sticker?

It is the "build data" sticker that should be on the originally issued service book on cars that were delivered with that, I can't say where it is on newer cars with "secret" service info, another one is normally stuck to the side of the spare wheel well, visible if you lift the mat.

Ok thanks, I'll look in my service book. There is a sticker in the spare wheel well, guess that's it
