Hi Everyone. I have a diesel 2l mk2 tt. When I lift off the accelerator the first couple of times I change gear when I start the car I hear I high pitched noise that fluctuates and a whoosh noise. It's hard to describe. It sounds similar to the noise you get when a boy racer has added a dump valve to their car, except the noise sort of stutters or fluctuates instead of just being a single whoosh.
I've had the car for about 4 years. 2012 convertible. It started doing it after I had a couple of glow plugs changed. I had snapped them previously when trying to change them myself, though the car still ran fine between the snap and the drilling out.
My guess is either it is unrelated or when drilling out some bits fell into the engine and are causing an air flap on the turbo to stick? Though it only does it for the first 30 seconds of driving or so.
I should add, the car appears to drive just fine with no loss of power.
Any help would be gratefully received.
