Mmi control joystick

Anyone any experience in taking the joystick button off the mmi. Have a few sticky buttons thanks to a previous owner spilling a sugary drink. The button is on tight I was wondering is there a trick to it or just give it some brute strength.

Small squirt wd40 sorted mine on last car .

Steam is effective too if you have a small handheld steam cleaner

Tried steam but never tried wd40 will try a few squirts.
