Mmi unit

Hi all
I bought a mmi unit second hand for my car it's a chorus unit I think it has the sd card slot. My old unit was the basic one 2g with the red screen. Any how pick up a second hand mmi plug it in the unit seems to switch on but the screen is blank. Am I doing something wrong do I need to replace the screen. Any thoughts please

You can't just pnp units, you have to match hardware, without data on the old & new units nobody can advise properly as you could have any unit.
