Looking forward to seeing these on !

Have you gone for 19's ? Be good to see how they sit on your car, what's the rim width and offset ??

Yeah 19x9 mate. ET33. Tight fitment so may need 235/35 instead of 255/35 tyres

Yup, it's a squeeze isn't it ? How are the fronts, even more of a poke ?
Yeah defo a squeeze! Haven't test fit the front as some idiot has buzz gunned the studs hard! The speedlines sit about 5mm further out on the front which will be more pronounced with the peelers. The american guys have fitted these with 255 / 35 , stock height with no rubbing issues.

Aye man. Much prefer the S5 alloys for the offset and concavity! You want the speedlines??

Actually, I do! But impending child in T minus 6 days (roughly) suggests it's not the best use of funds!

I really love the peelers too, so if I was going to spend money I'd get them, but didn't realise you may have to compromise tyre width to fit them.

I can sort you a good price! Will even sort them out for courier. PM me !

I wanted peelers even when i had my old B6 so its a long time coming.
Yeah the 255 / 35 will be close. Maybe slight neg camber on rear. If i lower any distance itll need to be 235 / 35!

Someone lowered in America with 255/35

Looks great! I think the A5/S5 wheel sizes and offset suit the car much better.

Very nice mate ! Bet you’re well chuffed, they sit nicer to the arches now they’re on with rubber than they looked like they were going to do when you mocked them up as just the bare rims.

Had any rub at all ?

Im over the moon mate. Yeah admittedly after the mock up with the bare rims i got worried . But all fitted up they sit nicely inline with the arches and the tyres tuck slightly under the arch. No rubbing issues so far . Ill be sure to post if anything develops!

Rubbing issue update for the alloys (19x9 ET33 255/35 - If anyone is interested!

Completed a 600 mile trip last weekend up through Loch Lomond, Glencoe and upwards to the Isle of Skye.
Largely no rubbing issues, only issues I had was over large dips, and only when hooning it. Even at that it hardly happened. I think I heard rubbing only 3 or 4 times.

Standard S-Line height. If I was to get it lowered I would definitely need narrower tyres!

At Spean Bridge after about 450 of the previously mentioned miles.

Not much to update. Been off here for a while.
Changed my tyres to 235/35/19 due to price and future lowering.
Put it through its service and MOT recently with a full set of new brakes.
Purchased some Eibach pro sport springs that I've yet to fit.
Also purchased a Turbo Intake Pipe (059129629A) off a newer 3.0TDI. Maybe good for 5bhp as previously researched by Karl. But more air is the main thing here.
Going to order a FMIC then head for a remap at some point.

Cheers

Holy thread revival. Still here. Planning on some more mods as I've decided to keep it!

'snow guard' cut out. Seen some people cut a small vent in the upper left of the box for sound. Anyone done this?

Also anyone upgraded to the larger MAF Housing and TIP?

Or more to the point. Does the 3.0tdi Maf fit into the bi-tdi housing?

I know the bitdi housing fits the airbox. Just wondered if the maf sensors can be swapped and physically fit the bigger housing.

I know going with the actual bitdi maf requires calibrating.

Really just looking to fit the bigger diameter housing

The housing and MAF are calibrated together, no need to upgrade if you are sticking to stock turbo.

Surely it's just the maf that's calibrated? The housing is just... a housing?
The housing has a tolerance on diameter and concentricity, the MAF also has a tolerance so they are calibrated together on the production line. You can try and swap to a bigger housing but there's no guarantee it will work correctly.

Aw nice. Cheers for the information

What mods do you have planned for your car?

I really need to get my S5 peelers fitted. I bought them earlier in spring but I haven't gotten around to fit them yet.
