Multitronic fault "gearbox malfunction you can continue driving limited functionality "

It was tongue in cheek.
Chill.out.
Good luck with your repair.

Nice one.
Great result.
Very Lucky !
Few on here not so !
I'll bet you've ****** QuattroV6tdi off ?

Very, very lucky indeed Micky. Definitely glad I took the advice of the Audi Dealership and drove the car no further - even though I contemplated it as the car was driving without issues.

Gear changes seem to be even smoother now than ever. And with a full engine service at the same time, the car is absolutely fabulous to drive.

I wish the other guys on here all the best in resolving their issues and thanks to everyone for the help/feedback.

Hi all,
I just got warning light on the dash 'gearbox malfunction you can continue drive (limited functionality)' Audi A6 2016 2L TDI S-tronic automatic gearbox. It happened few weeks after gearbox oil service, fault disappear after turning off engine and starting again, works as normal for few weeks then happens again, and again more often, usually when its cold. Brought it to the Gearbox garage they scanned and found 'P187A engagement not successful' its says need furder investigation, open up gearbox and to look inside would cost about about 2K euro . Does anyone have this situation ? what was wrong with it ? how did you fix it up? I'm looking any recommendations and advises. Thank you

Speaking personally as someone who went through being told that dreaded advice a couple of months ago from my local Audi Dealership, I'd strongly advise not to jump at that initially. They told me my mechatronic unit needed replacing. At a cost of £2.7k alone for the unit, I decided to look elsewhere.

Find another reputable gearbox specialist. I'd also recommend speaking with ECUTESTING.COM. That's who we used.
