I have the chance of an a4 b8 2.0 tdi non Quattro 2011. It has multitronic. Would this be a yes or a no. I had 2 previous auto Audis. They both started to give bother with gearboxes. I am hoping Audi had sorted them by 2011 or not.
Also consider that Multitronic is a modified CVT. CVT was designed to hold the engine at optimal revs whilst the transmission varies its ratio to change the car's speed. But purely because customers are used to having a gearbox instead of a CVT, Audi designed Multitronic to simulate gears. This ruins the whole purpose of the CVT technology and puts stress on the mechanism for no good reason. Multitronic as designed is pointless and if what @blueleggy suggests is true, probably best avoided.
