Hi there, after some assistance if possible.

I've just changed the clutch out on my 2005 1.9 TDI A4 Avant, but now I cannot change in to gear when the engine is running.

Gears change fine with engine off, but as soon as the engine is on, no gears will engage.

If I leave it in gear and turn the engine on, the car will start to move off.

Have bled through for ages with vacuum bleeding kit and pedal feels good.

Any ideas short of taking everything right off again? Could the new plate just be sticking a bit and should attempt to drive for a bit more?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming there’s no mechanical reasons for the dragging, it may still have some trapped air. What I’ve done in the past is give the clutch pedal half a dozen or more quick pumps ensuring the pedal goes right to the floor then finish with the pedal on the floor. Wedge the pedal down with a stick against the seat or steering wheel preferably overnight to allow any micro bubbles to percolate up the system. Then see what it’s like in the morning.

Seems strange only did the clutch on my 2.0tfsi a couple of weekends ago and had no grief at all. Everything is definitely as it should be?
