New compressor VIN confusion

i'm trying to buy a new AC Compressor and i'm lost with the VIN number, so could do with a little help, i've tried the online decoders but they dont seem to help heres why.

My Vin is "WAU ZZZ 8E 82A 196457"

i get the "8E" part and the "196 457" part but its the "82A" part that is confusing me, do i use the 8 the 2 or the A?

euro's list three compressors with vins from-

First Compressor-
VIN From 8E-1-000 001
VIN To 8E-3-285 000

2nd Compressor
Vin From 8E-4-023 001

3rd compressor
VIN From 8E-3-285 001
VIN To 8E-4-023 000

Forget choices mate this is your oe number for the compressor fitted to your car 8E0 260 805 AB

So...

But just for future reference the "-" in chassis breaks means you miss the number or letter where the dash is present.

ahhhh that makes sense so mines a "2" that should make choosing parts easier
