Afternoon all,

I will shortly be upgrading my Symphony II (6CD & tape jobby) headunit for the aftermarket seen below.

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kwavx810-p-6483.html - Head Unit

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/audi-double-fitting-p-5831.html - Fitting Adapter

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/audi-active-wiring-adaptor-p-2490.html - Audi Wiring Adapter

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/fakra-active-aerial-adaptor-p-5632.html - Aerial Adapter

My question is, will i need the Fakra aerial adapter, or will the Audi wiring adapter have it covered?

Cheers,

Epic

Hi mate.

i didnt need the fakra adapter when i put my Alpine HU in.

Also, with that speaker adpater - the quality will not be as good as standard. i have one right now and the rear speakers sound awful. Anthing past 20 and it crackles and sounds "Grungy". You would be better off upgrading the speakers IMO or you can get better adapters but not sure how good they are! I've got DLS R6a Compnents up front and Sony's in the rear.

You will also need a canbus adapter (£50) as the radio wont work with canbus or you can join the red and yellow wires so it stays on permanently on do what i do about to do which is buy a piggy bank fuse and run the wire from that to the red wire of the stereo..

With the fascia adapters, if you can get a oem one, this will be better as aftermarket ones can rattle bt autoleads is not too bad on quality. i got mine from vagparts but the shut down but someone else may be able to point to a genuine source.

I'll get the pics and links up for the piggy bank in a sec

Cheers for the info, i'll get purchasing and let you know how i get on!
